To be honest I am not sure what the exact catalyst for this drawing was. The space was divided into roof tops, sky and the interiors of office buildings. In their cubicles we see mundanity, secrets, friendships and panic. Outside the sky is filled with people either floating or falling onto the cityscape below. In the foreground people go about their business hanging laundry. Admittedly I have a problem now shaking my associations about people/skyscrapers/falling. But, this drawing was created before 2001 and was indeed a much lighter exploration of the flights of fancy that are often the product of regimented daily routines.
